Solution for Lost Data
I am a paying customer, not affiliated with the developer in any way. I am also one of the app users who lost all my data with the latest update.
Without a doubt, this was a colossal screwup on the part of the developer, and they deserve a good bashing for that act of negligence. HOWEVER, it appears that other reviewers here have not made much effort to work with the developer to recover their personalized data. IT IS POSSIBLE.
Upon discovering my data loss, I contacted the developer and received a response within 48 hours. The support technician expressed considerable and genuine regret for the situation. They have subsequently worked very hard to extract my data from a Time Machine backup in such a way that none of my other 150 apps are affected. When the corrected update of TopShelf is released shortly, it should be possible to overlay the missing data on the new database. Fingers crossed that all will be well... the developer has also assured me that the next version will have a method for backing up data via iTunes so that this never happens again.
In short, they made a one-star gaff on a four-star product and followed that up with five-star service. Im satisfied and I think you will be, too, if you give them a chance.
